240 women received smart laptop from PM in Sherpur

240 women of Sherpur received smart gift laptops from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Laptops were given to 240 trainees of total 12 batches in IT service provider, woman freelancer category in three upazilas of the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdullah Al Khairum distributed these laptops at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday, February 10 at afternoon organized by the District Administration and Information Communication Technology Directorate.

At this time, Sherpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Monalisa Begum PPM, Deputy Project Director of Her Power Project Nilufa Yasmin, Sherpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Sabiha Zaman Shapla and many others were present.  

240 women in 12 batches of four each in Sadar, Nalitabari and Sribardi upazilas of Sherpur district received these laptops after undergoing training. It is expected that these women will become self-reliant.

Bobby Rani Roy, one of the trainees, said, “We are educated unemployed. We don't have jobs. The days are going very hard. Later I took training. Now I got the laptop. We can do something now to stand on our own feet.

Sharmin Rima said, we are unemployed, no one looks at us. The Prime Minister turned her face towards us. I got a laptop, now I can do something. We express our gratitude to the Prime Minister for this.  

Sherpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdullah Al Khairum said, the government cannot give jobs to everyone, but it is trying to make everyone self-reliant. The government is providing all kinds of support to build a self-reliant nation, the government is providing support in various ways including training so that women are not left behind.
